〈Location: School Route〉
〈Ten minutes later〉
Tsukasa: Over here, over here! Quickly, let’s catch up to the garbage truck while it's stopped at the lights!
Ah, come on, why’re we doing this……?
Makoto: Indeed. All of this is completely unnecessary.
In any case, we were able to locate it thanks to Anzu…… onee-sama contacting the person who was in charge of cleaning the nap room for us.
From there, one thing led to another, and we were able to find out where the collected garbage was thrown and where it was being taken.
Since the garbage truck has a fixed route, let’s catch up to it, explain our circumstances and retrieve the pillow.
And then it’ll be case closed at last.
Tsukasa: Yeah. I’m glad Yuuki-senpai’s…… I mean I’m good at gathering information. I can find a solution no matter what happens- I’ll have to learn from that.
There’s nothing I can’t recover from.
Makoto: …...Um~, it suddenly hit me, but the other two went ahead on Izumi-san’s bike, and since we’re just walking, there’s a fair bit of distance between us now―
So we don’t need to pretend anymore, right?
Tsukasa: Ah, that’s right.
Makoto: Mhm. Well, we’ll keep it up until we use the pillow one more time to change back.
But we’ll have to keep putting on a good show so Izumi-san doesn’t notice.
Tsukasa: Yes. I do not have any experience in drama at all……
I kept making mistakes while we were acting, even though I had wanted to play the part of Yuuki-senpai perfectly until we returned to our own bodies.
Like Sena-senpai, it seems I’m no good at changing things up.
Yuuki-senpai’s amazing at it though…… Even though I knew what was happening, I thought you had become a completely different person.
It felt like your personality had changed entirely. ……Is ’Trickstar’ taking on acting jobs?
Makoto: No, not really. Yumenosaki’s idols are focused on live performances, so I don’t have much experience in it either.
But I do get cast in TV shows or movies sometimes, so I’ve probably picked up some skills here and there.
Fufu. That’s why I’m glad I can have this precious experience.
Tsukasa: Yes. I feel the same. Although it was exciting to speak informally like Yuuki-senpai……
I wonder if it would be considered disrespectful.
Makoto: Ahaha. Being so strict with your manners, that’s just like you, Suou-kun.
I’m the opposite. If I have to talk really politely, it feels like I'll bite my tongue. If we’re looking at this from a professional actor’s point of view, I’ve probably made a bunch of mistakes.
Tsukasa: No, it was perfect. I’m jealous.
I’m well aware that this might come off as underselling everyone else, but nonetheless…… you’re unexpectedly talented, you know?
Makoto: It’s not talent, it’s probably experience.
I play a lot of role playing games, and I have to model whatever poses they ask of me for work…… so I’m just used to it.
Tsukasa: You’re so modest. …...That reminds me, when Yuuki-senpai and Izumi-senpai were younger, you used to be models together, right?
Since you’ve been in the entertainment industry since childhood, if you think about it, that makes you my esteemed senior.
Makoto: Noo~, there was a gap where I wasn’t working. When I was a first year like you, I was doing a pretty bad job at my activities too.
Suou-kun was probably taking lessons1 in the years I spent as a child model.
That sort of upbringing…… those experiences, no matter what they may be, I’m sure you’ll be able to put them to good use in your work as an idol.
If you keep comparing yourself to other people, you’ll sulk over your own shortcomings…… The reality is that you’ll always be jealous of someone.
Tsukasa: Indeed. Needless to say, it’s better to accept the life you are given. After all, no matter how much one yearns for it, a person cannot become a butterfly.
If you’re a child, you become an adult. If you’re a caterpillar, you become a butterfly or a moth. There’s no way around that.
Even if you have a dream where that sort of boring reality can be overturned for a little while…… A dream is still just a dream.

1 'Lessons' here refers to 'cultural' lessons in dance, music, tea ceremony, flower arranging, etc.
