〈Location: Outfits Room〉

Mika: Skeleton, skulls, jewels, dolls, ghosts……

Nha~. I’ve got some sorta idea but I can’t put ‘em together……!

If I go an’ use all of ‘em, I reckon ‘m gonna end up lookin’ like some kinda ‘walkin’ museum’.

But this is my ‘personal outfit’. It’s gonna be somethin’ I treasure, so I wanna fill it up with a buncha stuff.

Oshi-san’d know what to do at a time like this. U~m……

I got it. ‘M gonna go take a look at ‘Valkyrie’s old costumes in the outfits room! If ‘m rememberin’ right, they should be somewhere ‘round here……

Here they are! I found ‘em! ‘Valkyrie’s costumes are delicate, so I gotta handle ‘em carefully.

The embroidery here’s real detailed……

Hm, is this where the different materials are joined together?

It was probably pretty difficult sewin’ them together since the fabrics have different stiffnesses, but it’s amazin’ since the stitches are still completely uniform.

Everythin’s done perfectly, even in the bits that ya can’t see if yer not lookin’ at it closely…… the longer ya look at it, the better it gets. Oshi-san’s costumes are the best.

‘M real glad I got to wear somethin’ of this calibre.

Everythin’ here’s filled with memories. They’re my treasures ♪

Ha~h…… I was gonna use ‘em as a reference, but Oshi-san’s skill and sense is too overwhelmin’. I don’t understand nothin’.

It just shows I still got a ways to go. Oshi-san’s level’s way outta my reach……

Shu: “That goes without saying.”

Mika: Oshi-san!?

(What, I just heard Oshi-san’s voice comin’ from the picture…… Did it get possessed!?)

Shu: “Kagehira is Kagehira. Just how do you intend to make it the same as one of mine? Do you mean to become an imitator?”

“Non! You were going to be an artist, were you not, Kagehira? There is no such thing as two of the same in the pursuit of art!”

“Do not even think of trying to create a work that is not ‘Kagehira’!”

Mika: Somethin’ that’s me…… I reckon I should do that too. All this time I’ve been chasin’ after Oshi-san, but it was nothin’ more than chasin’ Oshi-san’s shadow.

I have to find my own way of doin’ things so I can stand as Oshi-san’s equal……

But ‘m only just barely standin’ on my own. I dunno if I’ll be able to hold out ‘til the end. ‘S makin’ me nervous.

…...but ‘m not gonna give up. ‘Cause I made a promise to Oshi-san. ‘M gonna give it a go.

I might hesitate a bunch and prick my hands with the needle a whole lotta times, but no matter what, ‘m gonna try makin’ somethin’ that’s me. And then ‘m gonna show it off to Oshi-san!

Me, who was just Oshi-san’s doll, bein’ able to make a costume like this- I want Oshi-san to congratulate me!

‘M a dullard and I’m pretty slow, but watch over me, Oshi-san……

Shu: “It makes me happy to hear those words. Do your best, Kagehira.”

Mika: Oshi-san……

…...Oshi-san’d never say somethin’ like that! Who are ya and what’d ya do with Oshi-san!

Shu: “Non! I am Oshi-san!”

Mika: Oshi-san’d never call himself ‘Oshi-san’!

And Oshi-san’s always super strict on me and everyone else. Oshi-san’d never say such kind words so easily!

Shu: “What are you saying, useless Kagehira! You ground beetle! You absolute waste of space! You fool!”

Mika: Nha~, that ain’t it either!

Tsumugi: What a relief that the ‘Outfits Room’ isn’t locked. It would’ve been pretty disappointing if I came all the way here and it was closed.

The sewing kits are limited today, so I can’t carry one around with me.

I’ll just borrow it for a little while…...oya?

Mika: That ain’t even half like Oshi-san! Oshi-san curses at me way more!

Tsumugi: Excuse me, what's going on?

Mika: Wah, eek!? Tsu-Tsumugi-senpai!

Tsumugi: I heard you talking to someone, so I thought there was someone else here with you…… But it seems it’s just you in the Outfits Room, Mika-kun?

Were you maybe talking to yourself?

Mika: Um. I gotta make a ‘personal outfit’ of sorts.

I thought that if I was gonna make an amazin’ costume like Oshi-san, I oughta listen to Oshi-san’s voice.

But it ain’t nothin’ of the sort. ‘S just a fake. I ain’t acceptin’ it!

Tsumugi: Shu-kun’s voice……?

Mika: That’s right. I thought Oshi-san’d cheer me on, but it ain’t Oshi-san in the end.

Nha~, I can’t keep goin’ like this~

Tsumugi: Aah, if you hug the costumes like that, they’re going to get wrinkled, you know.

Mika: Oh no! Oshi-san’s gonna get mad……! I was bein’ careless, I gotta put ‘em all back in the costume cases.

Tsumugi: Hm? Something fell. This is……

Mika: Ah. Oshi-san’s picture!

Tsumugi: Here you go. It’s all taped up- it’s really important to you, isn’t it?

Mika: Mhm. This here’s real important. If I carry this picture with me, it feels like Oshi-san’s always close by…… ♪

Tsumugi: I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of costume you’ll make, Mika-kun. I hope you’ll make something wonderful.

Mika: Yep!

…...Huh? Speakin’ of, what’re ya doin’ here, Tsumuchan-senpai?

Tsumugi: My outfit got a little frayed, so I was going to fix it. You wouldn’t mind if I stayed here for a bit, would you?

Mika: Of course, take yer time~ ♪ is what I’d say, but it ain’t my room anyway.

Havin’ someone like Tsumuchan-senpai who’s good at sewin’ around sure is reassurin’.

Tsumugi: Please do tell me if you run into any problems. I’ll be happy to help out where I can.

Mika: (‘Producer’ said the same thing earlier. They’re all so worried about me.)

(......’M not alone. There’s a whole lotta people around who are holdin’ their hands out to help me.)

(Even though Oshi-san’s not here right now…… If I run into any trouble, ‘m definitely gonna get a lot of help.)

I wasn’t expectin’ to see ya. I was gonna take a quick break m’self, so I came here.

Did I do somethin’? I don’t remember, but I’m sorry if it’s somethin’ bad……?

I see, yer not angry with me. That’s a relief.

I didn’t realise. Oshi-san told me to not keep lowerin’ m’head fer no reason ‘cause it’s unsightly.

That’s right. Oshi-san’s been gone fer a while now, so I’m gettin’ worried about how ‘m actin’ as a person.

Oshi-san’s the only one who tells me to become like a doll……

……-wait no. Yer the one who called me over, ‘Producer’, and here I am talkin’ away!

What’s wrong? Didja need me fer somethin’?

“Personal outfit”? Hmhm…… So yer makin’ a ‘personal outfit’ fer all the idols here at ES.

Yer makin’ one fer each an’ every idol, huh.

It sounds easy, but ain’t there a lotta idols at ES? Ya don’t really mean yer makin’ one fer everyone?

Even before ES, ya made a lot of idol’s costumes. ‘M sure yer gonna do just fine.

So ya did a lottery...... I see. That’s a fair enough reason.

What kinda design would I like? True…… it is a ‘personal outfit’, u~m……

‘S gonna be a special costume fer me, ain’t it? I’ve always wanted to try makin’ one on my own.

All by m’self…… mm, I reckon I’ll be fine. I mightn’t be all too skilled, but I’ve watched Oshi-san work.

This ‘personal outfit’ of mine, it’s gotta be m’favourite outfit, right?

If I can make this on my own, I reckon I’ll be one step closer to becomin’ an artist like Oshi-san.

Of course, even if ‘m one step closer, ‘m still not gonna be anywhere near gettin’ on the same level. But that ain’t gonna stop me from movin’ forwards.

No~pe! I can’t be lettin’ my mind wander……!

(I’m real motivated, but I can’t gather my thoughts.)

(But ‘s a lil’ shameful to go askin’ fer ideas. Me an’ my big mouth, sayin’ “I’ll show ya an outfit that’s real fine” an’ whatnot.)

(......’S alright. I’ve still got time. I shouldn’t be givin’ up already- ‘s still too early to run cryin’ to ‘Producer’.)

(I decided I was gonna pursue art as a person. If I can’t even make one piece by m’self, Oshi-san probably won’t even look at me anymore.)

(I’ve been carryin’ Oshi-san’s picture with me everywhere I go, ‘s gotten all tattered.)

(I did take the picture on m’phone though, so I can print as many as I want……)

Just what am I thinkin’ー no, ‘m always thinkin’ about Oshi-san though.

We only get to see each other every once in a while, so ‘m gonna surprise him real good.

If I make the costume by m’self, Oshi-san’ll be proud and say I’ve grown.

This is so that Oshi-san’ll be proud of me!

Now ain’t the time to be holdin’ m’head, an’ it ain’t the time to be lookin’ down either. ‘M not gonna let it hold me back. ‘M gonna try my best~ !

Ritsu: Ah, that wasn’t because of you, Mikarin. I usually live my life in power-saving mode, so I get tired whenever I practice seriously.

Living idly dulls your senses though, so you could say this is a good sort of tired.

Fuaah, fuu…… ♪ Ufufu, sleepiness is a good feeling…… ♪

Mika: ‘M relieved. Then it’s all good~ ♪

‘M really grateful, Ritsu-kun! Ritsu-kun’s m’ saviour ♪

Ritsu: Saviour’s going a bit far…… You helped me out too, so don’t worry about it, alright……?

Normally I’d be practicing together with ‘Knights’, but-

Tsukipi~ and Secchan had work, and it seems Su~chan had some pretty important family matters to attend to.

So you helped me out too by practicing with me, you know?

Mika: Mhmm. I get it, Ritsu-kun!

I made a promise with Naru-chan t’have a lesson together sometime, but Naru-chan had somethin’ on too. ‘S more reassurin’ havin’ a friend ♪

We got put into different classes as well…… so ‘m glad we’re able t’talk to each other at the ES buildin’ ♪

I have to do somethin’ t’say thanks fer today, so if you’ve got anythin’, I’ll do it fer ya, Ritsu-kun. I won’t be forgettin’ no debts~ ♪

But as it stands, Ma~kun’s busy, and recently, there’s been a lot of instances where he’s had to leave me all by myself. I’m having a bit of a hard time.

So if you were to lend a hand when it gets difficult, that’d be really helpful…… ♪

Mika: If it’s just somethin’ like that, consider it done! I reckon I’ll get to see all sorts of excitement if I help ya out, Ritsu-kun, so tell me if somethin’s up, aight?

Besides, Ritsu-kun’s not bound by the laws of common sense, so it seems that just bein’ together with ya will have a positive impact on my creative work ♪

Ritsu: Fufu. I’m not sure if it’ll be beneficial to your creative work, but if that’s the case, could you make me a hot cocoa from the drink bar?

Arashi: Good work, Izumi-chan. That pose you did earlier, it was su~per good ♪ I learn something new every time I work with you.

Izumi-chan, it feels like you’ve gotten even more refined as a model. Maybe it’s because you’ve been working overseas?

Izumi: …...I guess you could say that. I’ve had plenty of time to practice.

(And despite all the effort I’ve put in, I haven’t been able to stand on the runway. It’s frustrating.)

Arashi: Oh, the staff are calling us. Maybe something happened? I’ll go take a look.

Izumi: Mm, alright.

(......Ah, I got an email from ‘Producer’. The initial designs are done already.)

(There’s five attachments…… does that mean she made five patterns?)

(It’s only been a little while since we got started. She sure is motivated.)

(Well, it doesn’t matter how many plans she’s prepared- if they’re no good, then they’re all getting rejected.)

(......I’m quite interested in this slender-looking one here. Since parts of it look like a ballet costume, it’d suit me.)

(As I thought, I was right to leave it up to ‘Producer’...... ♪ This one’s good, so I’ll just reply right now……)

(Huh, there’s another email. Is it another design? Just how enthusiastic is she about making these ‘personal costumes’?)

(......Ah, it’s the publishing company in Florence. Speaking of which, they’re just starting out, so they’re picking up whatever they can get.)

It seems to more or less be a job request, but…… it’s modelling for some lame advertisement flyer in the local paper……)

“The model we booked cancelled on us last minute, so we’re trying to find another model. Can you come in the day after tomorrow?”

The day after. No matter how you look at it, isn’t this too short notice?

On top of that, it’s just an advertisement in the local paper…… it’s pretty small job-wise. They really don’t need me.

(I’m here for ‘Knights’ work for two weeks. It’s impossible for me to do both.)

(But no matter how small it is, it doesn’t change the fact that they asked for me. Is it alright if I just pass it up like this……?)

Arashi: I’m back~ ♪ The staff brought us tea. They said they wanted us to pick the flavours we liked……

Oh? What’s wrong, Izumi-chan? You look gloomy, is something troubling you?

Izumi: …...I got a job request from a publishing company in Florence.

Arashi: Oh, congrats. Ufufu, I’m happy for you ♪

But you don’t look at all delighted about it?

Izumi: I said it’s a job, but it’s just an ad in the corner of the local paper, you know? What’s more, the shoot’s on the day after tomorrow.

Arashi: …...Izumi-chan. If you’re not sure what to do, then I think it’s better for you to go.

Izumi: But the work we have as ‘Knights’......

Arashi: Mhmm, that’s true. But there’s five people in ‘Knights’. There’s only one ‘Sena Izumi’ in the world.

So you should go to whoever’s asking for ‘Sena Izumi’.

Izumi: Whoever’s asking for me……

Arashi: That’s right. You said it’s an advertisement job- isn’t that wonderful? If you take this opportunity, you’ll probably get a bigger job next time.

And plus, ‘Knights’ has the strength to make up for whoever’s missing. You know that, don’t you, Izumi-chan?

Izumi: …...Mm, I know, which is why I can leave Japan without worrying.

Arashi: Every one of us knows how Izumi-chan feels towards his work as a model overseas. We’re all supporting you from our hearts.

Izumi: (Thanks to Naru-kun and the staff who heard about the situation, we were able to finish the shoot quickly.)

(Now that I’ve made the arrangements for a plane ticket on my phone, it’s probably about time I started heading to the airport……)

…...Huh, ‘Producer’. What, did you come to see me off?

Hmm, you heard about this from Naru-kun? Even though I didn’t contact you about the situation. I guess I’ll have to say thanks to Naru-kun afterwards.

You were the one who found us idol work so I’d come back to Japan, right?

And yet I have to cancel. I’m sorry. ‘Knights’ can compensate for a missing member, but there’s no changing the fact that I’m throwing away this job.

Then again, Naru-kun did say “Please become the world’s number one supermodel”.

I’ll become a model so good you guys will think ‘I’m glad we sent him out there’. You’ll see.

Right, right. You wanted to talk to me about my ‘personal costume’.

I know I said I’d be checking over it properly, but now that I’m leaving, I won’t be able to do that. There’s always emails, but there’s the time difference.

So. I think I’ll leave the rest up to you. I’ve narrowed down the designs. I’m sure it’ll work out.

Makoto: I was so absorbed in information gathering that I didn’t realise I’d finished my drink.

Might as well get a refill and take a quick break too while I’m at it.

Izumi: Yuu-kun ♪

Makoto: Eek! Izumi-san!? Don’t snuggle up to me so suddenly! No wait, even if you don’t do it suddenly, I’ll still be troubled!

Izumi: Ufufu. Being able to see you right after I come back- this is proof that we’re connected to each other. It must be fate…… ♪

Makoto: Well, since I’m always at ES, it’s almost a given that we’ll end up running into each other at some point.

But more importantly, you’re back in Japan?

Izumi: Ah yeah. ‘Knights’ has work, so I came back. I’m so nice, aren’t I ♪

Yuu-kun, when’s your next day off? If you’ve got time in the next two weeks or so, let’s go on a date.

Makoto: My schedule’s a bit packed right now, so going on a date is…… But it should be fine if it’s just a quick trip somewhere.

Ah, that’s right. I had something to say to you, Izumi-san.

Izumi: What is it? Maybe you feel like calling me ‘onii-chan’ again?

Makoto: That’s not it. The other day, there was a fashion magazine from overseas in our dressing room. You were in it, weren’t you, Izumi-san?

Izumi: Magazine…… Are you talking about the one that was a feature on hats? You noticed? I was in a pretty obscure spot, though.

You managed to find me in that picture. Ufufu, as I thought, Yuu-kun’s interested in me.

You know if you just say the word, I’ll send you dozens of them…… ♪

Makoto: I found you completely by chance, though. I was wondering what a foreign magazine was like, so I was flipping through it when I noticed you were in it.

Izumi-san, you’re really doing your best over there, huh. Even though there’s language barriers and things like that. That’s amazing.

Izumi: Of course I’m doing my best. I’ve even been studying posing from watching the real thing every day.

(......what even. In all honesty, it’s nothing that I should be getting praised for.)

(The photo Yuu-kun’s talking about- it’s so small that you wouldn’t find me if you weren’t looking for me.)

(Then again, I guess I should be grateful that I’m getting work at all as I am right now.)

(I was able to join up with ‘Knights’ for our activities this time, but the thing is, it was because I didn’t have any work over there.)

(I’ve decided that I want to succeed as a model, but it hasn’t been going to plan. I can’t even see the stage where I can say I’m the most beautiful in the entire world.)

(That’s why I’m really happy. Yuu-kun was able to pick me out from a photo where I thought for sure nobody would notice me…… ♪)

……Seeing as how the work I did in such a faraway country made it to Japan, I suppose there’s no need for me to worry about it.

I’ll succeed as a model and be an onii-chan that Yuu-kun can say he’s proud of.

Makoto: Yeah…… I remember Izumi-san saying “I’ll come home after I’ve matured some.”
